Mad Square Review

Story:

Laddu (Vishnu Oi) arrives at Tihar Central Jail, striking fear into everyone around him. Curious about his past, a gang of prisoners asks what led him there. With a sigh, Laddu unravels his story—how his three friends, Manoj (Ram Nithin), Ashok (Narne Nithiin), and Damodhar (Sangeeth Sobhan), turned his wedding into a disaster, setting off a chain of events involving more people and unexpected twists that ultimately led to his downfall. Packed with fun, chaos, and surprises, the rest of the story is best experienced on the big screen.

Plus Points:

1. Entertaining Moments: The film delivers a fair share of laughs and fun moments.
2. Energetic Performances: The three leads, Sangeeth Sobhan, Narne Nithiin, and Ram Nithin, bring energy to their roles.
3. Vishnu Oi Shines: Vishnu Oi effortlessly makes his struggles amusing for the audience.
4. Muralidhar Goud’s Comedic Timing: Muralidhar Goud adds to the fun with his impeccable comedic timing.
5. Well-Executed Comedy Sequences: Some comedy sequences, especially those surrounding Laddu’s wedding, are entertaining.

Minus Points:

1. Uneven Comedy: Some jokes fall flat, and the humor feels forced at times.
2. Second Half Lacks Energy: The second half lacks the same energy and comedic impact as the first.
3. Underutilized Characters: Supporting characters like Antony and Satyam Rajesh are underutilized.
4. Lack of Engaging Songs: The film lacks engaging songs and a memorable love track.
5. Sunil’s Character: Sunil’s character, Bhai, doesn’t leave much of an impression.

Technical Aspects:

1. Direction: Director Kalyan Shankar delivers a film with fun moments and plenty of laughs.
2. Music: Only the Swathi Reddy song stands out, while the rest are forgettable.
3. Background Score: The background score is decent.
4. Cinematography: The cinematography is adequate.
5. Production Values: The production values are strong.

Verdict:

MAD Square is a decent comedy entertainer with enjoyable performances. While the film has its fun moments, the lack of a strong story and inconsistent humor keep it from being a standout. It’s worth a one-time watch if you enjoy comedy films.
